our Approach to getting your IT assets under control

Step 1. Indentify and Tag Hardware Assets

It is essential to establish and maintain control of all Hardware Assets, so that ALL installed Software is accounted for.

  • Asset Number
  • Equipment Specification
  • Location
  • Serial Number
  • User
  • etc                                                                                                                                                                     <back to top>

Step 2. Establish Your Software Entitlement

Locate all Purchase Orders, Invoices, Contracts and all other documents, emails and online data, that refer to purchases related to Software Products.

Collate and analyse all purchase information, accounting for all different License Metrics, Geographical Restrictions, Demographical Restrictions and Support/Maintenance purchases, to determine Software Product Version and Edition Entitlements.                                                                                                                  <back to top>

Step 5. Plan & Take Action to Correct Any Compliance Issues

Under-Licensed Status

There are two actions that can be taken:

  • Purchase Additional Software Licenses.
  • Identify unused installations and uninstall them.

Over-Licensed Status

The most obvious action in a growing company, is to use up excess licenses to install the affected Software on new  Hardware Devices as they are purchased, without buying additional Licenses - but only until the excess is used up.                                                                                                                                                                       <back to top>
